Work clothes. You either love em’ or hate em’! For the past three years, I’ve been working in a physical therapy office that requires me to wear a black polo with the company logo. Sure it takes the stress off figuring out what you’re going to wear to work, but it gets old after awhile. One of the issues I found with my work uniform is that I couldn’t wear a cardigan over my polo unless it’s black and embroidered with the logo. Work uniforms should have a little bit of variety but I would have to have the logo plastered all over myself for the variety!
This past week, I was offered a new position as a financial service associate for one of the biggest medical facilities in Southern Maine! I was pretty stoked with the good news as I’ve been looking for a new job for quite awhile now. And one of the best things about taking the job is that I can kiss the work polo goodbye and start wearing more fashionable outfits to work again!
After I signed my new hire paperwork, I started looking for new clothes that are chic and business casual. I’ve been checking out places like Old Navy, H&M, and Nordstrom Rack for some basic pieces in different colors that can be easy to put together. For starters, I’m thinking about bringing the blazer back into my work attire as it adds a professional, but stylish touch. Back in college, I was a pretty big fan of the blazer look as it made me feel more like an adult! I had a navy blue blazer from American Eagle that I paired with some every day outfits. Unfortunately, it does not fit me anymore…

I found this black blazer on sale at Nordstrom Rack for less than $15! Talk about a steal! It’s a very casual blazer, but is not really top-notch quality and the material is softer than what a normal blazer feels like. However, it acts as a great starter piece especially for those who want to test out the blazer look before investing in a better quality, long-lasting one.
