May Beauty Favorites

The month of May has come to an end and you all know what that means: SUMMER TIME IS (basically) HERE! This spring was a bit of a blah in terms of weather in New England. It was rainy and cloudy almost every day and the temperature felt as if it was still in that winter-like “is it spring or nah” state. Where’s the fun in that? There was one day this past month when the sun finally came out and my eyes couldn’t adjust! I felt like I was being blinded by the light. I’ve never been more grateful for summer and sunlight ever in my whole life.

But because summer is just around the corner doesn’t mean that I can’t be fully prepared for the heat and humidity. Ick. Some of my beauty faves from the month of May will be so helpful in the upcoming months!

eva nyc “Clean It Up” shampoo & “Soften Up” conditioner, $8.99 each – Goodbye, summer hair frizz! I’ve loved eva nyc hair products ever since I got a travel sized hair mask in my Ipsy bag long ago. I’ve never had a shampoo and conditioner that was able to tame my haystack of a head! I can’t stress how wonderful this has been on my hair, especially when I step outside in the heat. I’m in love with the conditioner as it softens the ends of my hair with no problem at all. The packaging itself will make your shower shelf stand out and both products smells fantastic. Each bottle costs $8.99 and can be found at your local Target or Ulta!

Urban Decay “All Nighter” setting spray, $15.00 – A few of my friends have raved about this setting spray so I had to jump the gun and try it out for myself. I found this at Nordstrom Rack one day and holy crap I am in love. The original bottle costs $33 but of course I love to try out a product by buying the miniature size before investing in the full size and I’m very impressed. I use a foundation stick on a regular basis and in the summer time, it likes to melt off my face along with the rest of my makeup..it doesn’t look good! I used this setting spray on our first 70 degree day here in Maine and it definitely kept my make up in tact for the afternoon.

Holika Holika “Pig Nose clear” blackhead 3-step pore strip, $3.99 – I love K-Beauty, especially when it comes to skin care. I use these pore strips once a week to clean out all the gross dirt from the pores on my nose. The first step is a wet strip that is supposed to dampen your nose for the actual pore strip in the second step. The last step is another wet strip that will remove the sticky residue from the pore strip. I was surprised to find a pack of these strips at TJ Maxx for only $3.99! It’s great to see more K-Beauty products being sold in big retail stores.

Benefit “Roller Liner” liquid eyeliner, $22.00 – Liquid eyeliner, or as I would like to call it, the holy grail of eye make up, is part of my daily routine. For years I stuck with the Stila All Day liner but I knew I needed to branch out and try new ones. I’ve become very impressed with Benefit’s products as of lately so I knew this one wouldn’t disappoint. I’m impressed with how smooth it glides onto my eye lids and it will last all day. So far, it has yet to smudge around my eyes.

essie “Mrs. Always Right” nail color, $8.99 – This is for all you fellow misses out there….because it’s so. damn. true. 😉 This nail color is more on the magenta side and has a very mature, lady-like touch. I think it compliments the bling on that ring finger very nicely!

Spring may be coming to an end but summer time is just the beginning when it comes to finding a testing great beauty products. What were some of your favorite spring faves? Let me know in the comments below!
